Living Without magazine editor talks about the link between food allergies and asthma.
At Best Allergy Sites we feel it’s important to discuss your child’s diet and medications with your health care professional.
We interpreted this video to suggest that it is possible that those with asthma symptoms might have undiagnosed food allergies that are contributing to or causing those symptoms. If you feel that might be the case for you, we encourage you to consult with an allergist or your physician.
Food allergies and asthma can be a serious matter and should not be taken lightly. Allergy testing can be done to determine whether foods should be eliminated from a diet and testing results should be taken into consideration with the patient’s symptoms.
We are not advocating a holistic approach one way or the other, however some parents have found holistic methods to work for them.
We are also not advocating that parents simply change their diet based on this video, or what they might read. All children and all allergies are not created equally. What works for one family might not work for another. Again, it’s important to discuss what you learn with your doctor.
There is currently no cure for asthma or allergies and no definite known cause. We feel the above video is a piece of information worth sharing and something you can discuss with your own doctor if you are interested in pursuing allergy testing, diet or medication changes.
